Sometimes we forget that what we put on our body topically is just as important as what we put inside of it. I had the opportunity to try out some products from one of the most innovative and progressive companies in the cosmetics world, Beautycounter. Beautycounter is 100% transparent and the safety of their products is of the utmost importance to them. Check out some of my favorites below:
Disclaimer: I was not compensated by Beautycounter, these opinions are 100% my own. Just to be entirely clear, I would never steer my readers toward a product I didn’t truly love and believe in. OKAY let’s talk about some safe beauty products, shall we?

I decided to shoot these products alongside some nutritional powerhouse smoothies, because I think it’s important to show the juxtaposition of inner beauty and outer beauty. They are equally important!
I am not kidding when I say I have probably purchased 20 different kinds of sea salt hair sprays in my life. There has always been something so alluring about purchasing a spray bottle that can capture that “been at the beach all day” look. Unfortunately, most of these sprays typically miss the mark. I was absolutely obsessed with this sea salt spray. This spray made my hair perfectly wavy whether I put it in while wet or dry. It never felt sticky or oily or weighed down, and I have such a problem with greasy hair so I typically avoid hair product all together. This one was my absolute favorite of all the products.
I am a bronzer connoisseur; I’ve honestly tried them all. I’ve used everything from drug store brands to the most expensive. Here are two things I hate in a bronzer: 1) not enough pigment, aka you feel like you’re putting on fifty layers to get a little bit of color 2) shimmer. Now, some people like the shimmer, but if you’re a shimmer hater like I am, this is the bronzer for you. I loved this bronzer so much, it is matte and deeply pigmented: perfect for contouring. I even used it as an eyeshadow in the crease of my eye for a natural earth toned smokey look.
Confession: I have some of the worst dark circles known to mankind. I also have EXTREMELY problematic skin (more on this another time, because I’ve found some super helpful remedies), so concealer is kind of like another limb for me at this point, I will not be found without it. I thought this touchup concealer pen was great for dark circles and perfect for a little blemish touchup.
Putting oil on your face seems like the worst idea in the world, especially when you struggle with acne. This notion is completely false, oil is actually a godsend for your skin. I have to add an addendum to that statement, *the right oil is a godsend. Beautycounter is trustworthy and there are a lot of all natural face oils out there but also a lot of false impersonators. I can’t tell you how many face oils I’ve seen on the market that claim they are some natural oil but then I look and the first ingredient is something like soybean oil; no good. Always always ALWAYS read the ingredients. When our skin is dry, it becomes irritated and starts to overproduce its own oils=more pimples. Whenever I feel I’m starting to breakout, I go straight to face oil. Think of it as a wound, we know it’s important to keep a wound moist in order to ensure proper healing and avoid scarring, same goes for a pimple. OIL IS YOUR FRIEND. K that is all.
Okay, this brown sugar based body scrub smells so good I want to eat it. Exfoliating is so very important and this tub of goodness makes the job much easier.
It’s no surprise that this product is an Allure beauty award winner. This tinted moisturizer is lightweight, has SPF coverage, and it is perfect when you want to perfect that dewy natural look.
