I’ve tried many alternative pizza crust recipes. Some were too dense, some too crumbly, some flavorless. These multiple mishaps were enough to break a pizza lover’s heart. I have developed a vegan and paleo pizza crust method that allows you to have your pizza and eat it too. In this recipe I will give you three different pizza recipes that I have made and enjoyed. Waste not, want not: this quick pickled stem recipe was inspired by Sweetgreen’s #getwastED salad; the goal here is to utilize the parts of vegetables that we normally dispose of. I come from a long line of fervent non-wasters and I felt the need to carry on the family tradition; so, when I saw some unused chard, beet, and kale stems about to be thrown away, my shame (and pickling affinity) set in, and voila, pickled stems were born.
So, I know it’s September…but technically summer is not over yet. Make the most of the final days of this wonderful season and whip up a batch of these delicious shrimp rolls on grain-free baguettes.
