Vibrant Guide: Miami

After living in the area for almost 4 years now, I figured it was time to make a Vibrant Guide for Miami! In no particular order, I will share all my favorite place to go in the Miami (and Fort Lauderdale) area. This includes best places to grab coffee, food, drinks and the most ‘Instagrammable’ spots in town.

Best Food Spots:

KYU

Amazing food, happy hour weekdays + Saturday. I recommend getting there at 4:30 to secure a table, since it gets packed. I order the smoked pineapple wynwood mule with just a splash of ginger beer or ginger beer on the side (I’m that annoying person). The roasted cauliflower and Korean fried chicken: insanely good.

Zak The Baker

Ridiculously good bread. If you’re gonna eat bread, you want to eat it here. Amazing toasts, breakfast plates, lunch options. Right in the heart of Wynwood. Keep in mind it is closed on Saturdays!

Mandolin

This restaurant owned by a Greek + Turkish husband and wife duo make you feel like you’re in another world. The beautiful blues and whites surround you while you snack on hummus (and other amazing dips), fresh crudites, and rosé.

Lucali

Best. Pizza. Ever. Yes, I said it. Lucali has one location in Brooklyn and one location here in Miami (sunset harbor). When I want to indulge in pizza, this is where I do it. I recommend getting a pizza with loads of fresh basil, chili oil, and garlic (all free add-ons).

1-800-Lucky

Really cool new spot in Wynwood, the inside is sort of an open cafeteria lay out, with multiple local asian food restaurants serving up their best dishes. You can order some dumplings and banh mi bowls, grab a drink at one of their bars, and sit outside under twinkly lights. P.S. there’s also a secret karaoke room

Yardbird

Great place for brunch. They have two cocktails I’m obsessed with: a blackberry bourbon lemonade made with cardamom and bitters, and a passionfruit basil bourbon drink.

Pubelly

If you’re in the mood for sushi. The crab roll with clarified butter is ridiculously good.

Coyo Taco

Good for some grab and go tacos in Wynwood.

Greek Islands Taverna (Fort Lauderdale)

One of my favorite restaurants in fort lauderdale, I highly recommend the grilled squid and the shrimp.

Basilic Vietnamese (Fort Lauderdale)

Unbelievably good and fresh vietnamese food.
